At the moment, for viewing on the computer or posting to my Flickr page I generally resize photos to 800x600, 100% quality, and sharpen them slightly. The free program IrfanView does a good job for these purposes. For more complex editing I use Photoshop Elements. This picture of the Parliament Buildings was taken a few days ago. The uploaded size is 800x600.

Since this is a test blog, and I haven't spent much time working on it, I haven't yet mastered the wrapping of text and pictures. Ah well...

Sharing News and Photos

Instead of sending a newsletter to friends, it's possible to set up a free blog, write news and attach photos. Then all you have to do is to send your friends the URL of the blog. If they click on the photo, they will see a larger version. Here's a picture taken in Manotick yesterday. It looks as if these old buses never die!

African Violets

This was uploaded in the large size.

Spring Green

This was taken in our back yard yesterday, after the rain had stopped. Someone told me that it's a very "New Zealand" image.

How quickly everything becomes green once spring really gets started. This was taken at the Arboretum a few days ago. Uploaded in medium size.

Andrew Hayden Park Waterfall

I see that the artificial waterfall in Andrew Hayden Park in Ottawa has been turned on. Time to go out in the evening perhaps and take some "silky water" pictures.

The Mayor of Ottawa

I wonder whether he should resign at least until the criminal charges against him have been heard and a verdict rendered. This is certainly the normal course for politicians and business executives. Something to ponder in any event.
